Mc LEOD ROAD HERITAGE
Mc Leod Road, now renamed I. I. Chundrigar Road, has always been the financial center of Karachi's economy. Most of the biggest buisnesses and financial institutions in the city have offices here. The Karachi Stock Exchange and the Karachi Cotton Exchange are also located on this road. British era architecture on this street ranges from the State Bank building to the City Railway Station buildings and administrative offices. This road also preserves some of the finest private architecture from Karachi's early period which deserves to be preserved for the sake of the city's history. In this examination of the Mc Leod Road heritage, we will start from its western end near the Merewether Tower and proceed eastwards for the length of the road.
